    Babirye’s Story

Babirye was a twin, however her sister died at birth.  Her mother passed away when she was only three years old and her father abandoned the family after this.  Her grandmother has cared for Babirye along with a cousin who was also orphaned.  Babirye’s grandmother sells local herbs but it does not earn her enough money to raise the children and send them to school.  Babirye has been in and out of school a few times but is sent home when her school fees are not paid.

Now a part of the PFP Juniors program, Babirye attends a highly ranked primary school and has big dreams to become a teacher when she grows up.  While PFP supports her with education and medical expenses, Babirye continues to live with her grandmother, who she loves very much. Her grandma works hand in hand with PFP and is proud to play a role in supporting Babirye in being able to attend school regularly.
