Meddy Kanyola

    Meddy’s Story

Meddy’s mother was just 14 years old when she gave birth to him and sadly, his father passed away just after Meddy was born. Meddy’s mother had to drop out of school to care for him and as a result of not having a formal education, has not been able to obtain reliable employment. Unfortunately without an income, there is no money for school fees, or even food on most days. She and Meddy are living with Meddy’s grandmother in a small mud hut, and they sell tea on the side of the road to earn an income.

Now a part of the PFP Juniors program, Meddy attends a highly ranked primary school. He has big dreams to become a doctor someday because he “wants to help sick people feel better”. While PFP supports him with education and medical expenses, Meddy continues to live with his mom and grandma, who he loves very much. His mother works hand in hand with PFP and is proud to play a role in supporting Meddy in being able to attend school.
