    Mungu’s Story

Mungu was born into deep poverty. He is one of six children. He and his brother Adam are in PFP together and both kids are unsure of where their other siblings ended up. Their father abandoned the boys and their mother died due to unknown illness. After their mother’s death in 2016, the boys were completely on their own. The hut in which they lived had no roof, doors or protection from the elements.

In 2017 a village government official discovered the boys’ living circumstances and did not believe it was suitable. He took them to the probation officer’s headquarters in Jinja town. She called PFP and asked if we could provide a loving home for them. Now a part of the PFP program, both boys are in a safe environment. They are attending a highly ranked boarding school. Unfortunately, PFP has not been able to identify any family members to house them during school holidays. PFP social workers continue to search for relatives who can step in and build a relationship with Mungu and Adam. In the meantime, the boys spend holidays with the PFP family at Hope Home. In his free time, Munu enjoys playing with toys, swinging and swimming.
