Shamilla’s Story
Shamilla lives with her mother and siblings in Mbiko Uganda. Shamilla’s father abandoned the family when she was a baby and has not helped in any way since then. Her mother struggles to feed and educate her children and she tailors torn clothes as her only source of income.
Now a part of the PFP Juniors program, Shamilla attends a highly ranked primary school and has big dreams to become a teacher someday. While PFP supports her with education and medical expenses, Shamilla continues to live with her mother, who she loves very much. Her mother works hand in hand with PFP and is proud to play a role in supporting Shamilla in being able to go to school.
