Angela’s Story
When Angela was just two years old, her mother abandoned her entire family and has not been heard from since. Angela’s father remarried and had other children with a new wife. After Angela’s stepmother passed away, the family started to separate and the children moved to other homes to be cared for. Angela’s sister Harriet soon became pregnant which led to an early marriage. Because Angela’s father was not willing to look after her, Harriet brought Angela to her home to help her look after her child.
Today, Angela lives with Harriet, her husband and their children. Unfortunately, the income that the family has is used to support the four biological children of Harriet’s husband and Angela is often left out. Angela’s sister has done her best to support her, but it has been challenging without an income of her own and she must rely on other people in the community to help her meet Angela’s needs.
Now a part of the PFP Juniors program, Angela attends a highly ranked primary school and has big dreams to become a nurse someday. While PFP supports Angela with education and medical expenses, she continues to live with her sister, who she loves very much.
