Shafik’s Story
Shafik lost both of his parents when he was a young boy, just months apart. After his parents passed away, Shafik’s grandmother stepped in to care for him and although she loves him very much, she was unable to provide even the basic necessities for him. She sells corn and other vegetables on the side of the street and does the best she can to provide as much as she can but it was never enough to pay for school fees.
Shafik loves school so much but was always chased away because of failure to pay his school fees. Now a part of the PFP Juniors program, Shafik attends a highly ranked primary school and has big dreams to become an auto mechanic someday. While PFP supports Shafik with education and medical expenses, he continues to live with his grandmother, who he loves very much.
