    Lucky’s Story

Waiswa lives in Mbiko town with his mother, his father and his three siblings. He has a twin sister Babirye, who is also enrolled in the PFP Juniors program.  Waiswa’s father once had a job working part time as a driver, but has been laid off and is now seated at home.  His mother runs a small business where she sells tomatoes, onions, green peppers and bananas. Education is expensive in Uganda, and as the family survives on a single parent income, there is not enough left over to pay school fees in addition to meeting all of their basic needs.

Waiswa has completed one term of nursery school and while he loved attending school, his family was not able to come up with the funding to keep him in school for the entire year. Through the PFP Junior scholarship program, Waiswa will receive the financial assistance he needs in order to finish school and to reach all of his dreams. His family will work hand in hand with PFP to ensure Waiswa receives the financial, physical and emotional support he will need to thrive.
