PFP’s Official Video
Our awesome volunteers Yuri and Roos have combined their talents to produce a video for PFP. It’s going to tell the story of the first PFP children (who are now grown men) and will explain how many children, specifically children from the Karamojong tribe, end up on the streets in Uganda and what PFP has done to help. It is a story of hope. It’s very close to being ready and we can’t wait to share it with you!

The 5 boys who previously were living on the streets (Kemi, Ashiraf, Hamza, Yasin and Matthew) and who played in the video and are now a part of PFP’s program wanted to say thank you to Yuri and Roos!

Sponsorship Opportunities
We are still searching for sponsors for 2 of 6 the children rescued as a part of the PFP video filming project. Both Benja and Matthew are looking for a sponsor to ensure they remain in school and well looked after and loved. We understand that we took a chance bringing these children in without sponsors already lined up, but we just couldn’t leave them out there. Trusting it will all work out and that we’ll find the perfect matches. Please reach out if you would like any details at all. We are just a message away. We’d also really appreciate it if folks would reach out to any family and friends that come to mind and share the boy’s story. We can do this together!!
Sponsors Needed
Should you become a sponsor we will do our best to ensure you and your family can develop a meaningful relationship so you ALL benefit. You’ll be able to exchange letters and pictures, will receive report cards and reports from your child’s caretakers.
Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this opportunity: hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org
Welcome to the Family
Last month, we found new sponsors for Ashiraf, Eria, Hamza and Yasin. Thank you so much to our very generous supporters for stepping up in such a big way!
42 Day Countrywide Lockdown
The country of Uganda has entered into another 42 day lockdown amidst a 2nd wave of Covid, which is hitting the country harder than the first wave did. In an effort to prevent this surge from overwhelming Uganda’s healthcare system, President Museveni has imposed another 42 day lockdown. The President’s very stringent lockdown measures have hit the country hard with transportation prohibited and many families unable to work, to gather food and supplies and to feed themselves or their families. All children have once again been sent home from schools and we are hunkering down, keeping safe and waiting for things to normalize once again. Sponsor dollars are being stretched to accommodate the skyrocketing food and medical care costs for our children, staff and families in the community. Please click the link below for further information.

Staying Busy at Home
Despite the current countrywide lockdown making it impossible for the PFP children to attend school or even leave the homes, we always do our best to keep everyone busy. Basketball, football, playing cards, tutoring and lots of time spent connecting is the order of the day around here!

Hard at Work
Our faithful Maintenance Manager, Peter is always hard at work, ensuring that all three of PFP’s properties are in top top shape and are a place that anyone would be proud to call home. Thank you Peter for all you do!

Welcome to the Team
We are excited to announce we have hired a full-time therapist to join our staff in Uganda. Welcome to the PFP family, Hilda!!
Hilda has dedicated her life to improving children’s self-esteem and helping them work on focusing within in order to enable them to build a better future for themselves. Her passion for helping children was born from her own difficult childhood and abandonment, which she believes have made her stronger and more of an ally who children can trust and learn from. Hilda has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and has a strong work ethic. Her greatest dream is to help children rise up to be the best version of themselves while knowing love and feeling supported.
The timing is perfect and Hilda will jump right in with working the new boys we just brought in from the streets. Many of our children will benefit from time with Hilda and we are thrilled to have her on our team.

Birthday Celebrations
Happy, happy birthday to our special ones! We always do our best to make sure every child in PFP gets a chance to feel special on their birthday. Each child receives a gift and has a small celebration followed by a BIG birthday celebration all together at the swimming pool during school holidays. The group birthday celebration has been placed on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we still take the time to celebrate the kids individually. Many sponsors get involved by sending gifts to their child as well. These children deserve to feel special on their day and we always do our best to make it so!
Happy Birthday to Our July Birthday Girls and Boys!
Birthday Fundraisers
Many of our supporters have “donated” their birthdays to PFP by hosting a birthday fundraiser through Facebook. It is so easy to do and Facebook fundraisers take ZERO administrative fees! We hope you will consider including PFP for your next birthday!
Lillian is graduating!
We wanted to send a shout out to Team Lillian this month! Her sponsors have stood beside her since she joined the program in 2013. Since then, Lillian has grown from a young girl in a desperate situation to a life full of hope as a young woman. Words are not enough to convey our gratitude and our excitement to announce that Lillian has graduated her training program in Hairdressing and Design. She will now be ready to enter the workforce and will look toward her future with hope and excitement.

The PFP Junior Program
The Juniors Program works with families in our community so parents may be able to send their children to school. These children live full time with their families but for them, poverty has prevented the children from attending school regularly. This program is a partnership between parents and PFP to supplement on what they are able to contribute so parents my take pride in being able to send their children to school through their own hard work.
The ages of children in this program range from four years to eighteen years of age and we currently have 75 students who are benefiting from this partnership.

Family Sponsorship Opportunities
We are always looking for general sponsors to help our family thrive. Essentially, as a general family sponsor, you are the sponsor of ALL of the children. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this opportunity: hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org
Director (on the Board) Needed
We are looking to add a new Director or two to our board and what better place to look than from within our team of awesome supporters. We are always looking for ways to improve and would love to find someone with a background in Microfinance, child development or child psychology. If you would like to support the work of PFP in a more meaningful way, we’d love to chat. Please reach out via the email below and we can go from there to determine if it might be a good fit. At the very least…. we’ll have a great conversation and a chance to connect.
