Sponsor Needed
We are looking for a sponsor for our sweet Chipa. She is in secondary school at Musana High and dreams of one day becoming a journalist. She is interested in current events and wants to make sure people in her community are well informed. Chipa is the most loving and caring big sister you could ever dream of and she loves to dance and sing with the younger children of PFP. Just $85/month will help PFP to keep Chipa enrolled in school and preparing for University! If you are interested, or have any questions, please reach out!

Welcome to the Family!
This month, thanks to our very generous supporters, Ketty, Irene and Hamza have all found their sponsor match. The kids are so excited to have new friends from all the way across the world. And we are so grateful to our caring supporters for stepping up!
School Life
The PFP children are nearly a month in and starting to really get in the groove of being back at school after being out for almost two years. Our Staff Team and the Student advisory team (the elder PFP students in Universities and trade schools) visit the children at their schools every two weeks to check in, bring snacks, check on health and other concerns. Our aim is to ensure the children feel loved and supported as they transition back to a life of learning!

Children at Love Home
While most of our students are back at boarding school, there are still a handful of children who remain at Love Home year round. The children who remain behind attend day school and come home to their loving PFP aunties and uncles in the afternoons. All children under the age of 6 as well as any high risk children (just rescued children, in off the streets, children dealing with mental health issues or PTSD) remain home year round. The receive frequent visits from our AHU students as well as the main program University level students. A lot of our elder students come home on weekends to spend time with these littles and provide love and support as they heal and grow. In addition to visits from their older PFP brothers and sisters, our mental health therapist, HIldah works full time, 40 hours per week with these children. What an army they have behind them!

Birthday Celebrations
Happy, happy birthday to our February birthday celebrants! We always do our best to make sure every child in our main program gets a chance to feel special on their birthday. Each child receives a gift and has a small celebration during their birthday week followed by a BIG birthday celebration all together at the swimming pool during school holidays. Many sponsors get involved by sending gifts to their child as well. All children deserve to feel special on their day and we always do our best to make it so!
We will look forward to celebrating (with a huge swimming pool party) all children whose birthdays fall between January and April during the long April holiday!

If you are the sponsor of a birthday child this month, you are welcome to send us an email and we can work together to make their day even more special!
Student Advisory Team
While all of the Student Advisory Team students are back at school, they still make time to meet at minimum once per month to discuss PFP happenings and how they can help make things better for all of the children of PFP. We are so proud of our team of elder students!

The PFP Junior Program
The Juniors Program works with families in our community so parents may be able to send their children to school. These children live full time with their families but for them, poverty has prevented the children from attending school regularly. This program is a partnership between parents and PFP to supplement on what they are able to contribute so parents may take pride in being able to send their children to school through their own hard work. The ages of children in this program range from four years to eighteen years of age and we currently have 89 students who are benefiting from this partnership.

PFP Juniors Supplemental Programs
In an effort to address the needs of the whole child and his or her family, our PFP Juniors coordinator has ramped up the supplemental programs being offered. Each month, there is a regular schedule for career guidance, hygiene and sex education, skills lessons (knitting, painting, tailoring and dance lessons), mental health therapy, family planning and birth control for parents, community outreach programs (food distribution and family empowerment), fun day, and tutoring. The Juniors children are LOVING it and getting involved with more and more programs by the week!
