New Hope Home Renovations
Work on the new house has continued this month, with much of our Uganda team taking part in the renovations. It was a race to the finish as everyone pitched in to make sure the home was ready for the boys return at the end of the month. The perimeter wall made of sharp bushes has been reinforced, and is beautiful, might we add! A new water tank has been installed, painting is complete, and the plumbing and electrical work is done. We are so proud of our team!
This home (New Hope Home) is for boys between the ages of 9 and 18.
School Days
The children are just wrapping up their end of term exams and will be headed home in the very beginning of May. Here’s to another great term at school. We are so proud of each and every one of our students!
Community Handout
This month, our PFP Juniors program was able to do another community handout. We reached out to two schools in our community, Brian’s Church School and Njeru Primary School. Between the two schools, PFP was able to provide school supplies for 120 children!
Welcome to the Family
This month, we welcomed seven more children into our growing family. We are so proud to be able to play a part in these children’s lives and we have high hopes for their futures.
Rebecca, Awuma and Jacob
These three children have lived together through a life of uncertainty. Their mother has not been able to provide even the most basic necessities for any of them. Unfortunately, when they were all very young, their father passed away which left their mother alone with the children. In Uganda an uneducated woman without a husband has little hope of being able to provide for the family. Jobs are scarce and desperation is so common that people aren’t often able or willing to help. The children often would go days without any food and they did not feel safe at home. Their mother pleaded with The Peace for Paul Foundation to rescue Rebecca, Awuma and Jacob so they would have a chance at a better life. In 2017, all three of them were welcomed into the PFP family and they can now look toward their future with hope. PFP will work to ensure they maintain a safe and healthy relationship with their mother as well. WE STILL NEED SPONSORS FOR AWUMA AND JACOB. Click HERE if you are interested in signing up!
Morgan
Morgan has been an orphan since the time he was an infant. His mother died when he was only one month old and his father died shortly afterward in a motorcycle accident. After losing both parents, Morgan lived with his grandmother but she had medical issues that rendered her unable to work regularly. When she felt well enough, she was sometimes able to work, sorting beans and other simple jobs in a restaurant. She was given food and occasionally a small amount of money for other needs in exchange for her labor. Unfortunately, she was not able to provide even the most basic necessities for Morgan, let alone pay for school. Further, when she was sick she was not able to contribute to his well being at all. His grandmother pleaded with The Peace for Paul Foundation to help Morgan and he has now been welcomed home where he will be fed, cared for and loved daily. He will continue to have a relationship with his grandmother for as long as she is living and he will be able to look toward his future with hope. Although he now has a safe and loving place to call home, WE STILL NEED TO FIND MORGAN A SPONSOR. Click HERE if you are interested in signing up!
Patience, Promise and Tracy
Patience, Promise and Tracy were welcomed home this month, thanks to one very generous supporter who is sponsoring all three of them temporarily until we can find their permanent sponsors. These darling girls have lived through far too much in their short lives. Their father died in 2014 and since then, out of desperation their mother turned to prostitution to keep her daughters fed. The worst part of it all is that the girls slept in a small one room hut where this all happened regularly. They have always been at great risk for harm, but now their mother has contracted HIV and is very sick. We recently learned that the girls and their mother were kicked out of their home for failure to pay rent and were living on the streets. An amazing supporter stepped up to provide temporary sponsorship so we could rescue them immediately. Now we just to link each girl up with her permanent sponsor.
Each girl needs either one $125/month sponsor or two $65/month sponsors. We are accepting sponsorship at all levels! Please click HERE if you would like to sign up!

PFP Junior Sponsors Needed
There are now 25 children in the PFP Junior program! All children currently in the PFP Junior program are fully sponsored, but there is always room for more. For only $35 per month, you could sponsor a child through the PFP Junior Program and help a very deserving little person fulfill their dreams.

What is the PFP Junior Program?
The PFP Junior Program allows us to help a larger number of needy Ugandan children obtain an education. The children who benefit from our PFP Junior Program live in our neighborhood and their parents or guardians are unable to afford the full amount of school fees, uniforms and school supplies. Because they have families to look after them, these children will not be living in our home. Rather, these children will live with their families and be sponsored through PFP for education healthcare costs only. This program is designed to be a helping hand to parents who can provide but need some support to contribute to their child’s education and future. The parents pay a small portion of school fees only to keep them involved and empowered to educate their children instead of depending solely on handouts. This program allows an education to be attainable for so many children and their families. In addition, we can help save for the much higher costs of Secondary School.
“All kids need is a little help, a little hope and someone who believes in them.”

New Members Needed
We are continually looking to expand our Peace for Paul team and need people with skills and time to share with this great cause!
Here is a short description of what a PFP Member is:
Peace for Paul is managed by its Board of Directors. There is also a Member pool, which is where people like you–who show an interest, can get their feet wet and see if becoming a Director is something you would like to pursue. We look for people who have a love for the PFP mission and its children and for people who have knowledge and skills to offer which would help PFP grow. As a member, you are invited to (though not required to) attend our monthly Director meetings (via Skype). You are asked to help with our two annual fundraisers (by selling tickets for the raffle, or helping to collect items for the auction). You are also offered the chance to join our various committees if you have an interest in any of them and have a skill that could contribute to its growth. Our current committees are: Sustainability, Education, Social Mission and Fundraising. It is also ideal, if as a member, you take on a specific project. The idea being that you really can dig in and get involved. You could come up with your own project–something you think PFP could benefit from. We would leave that with you!
Please contact us at: hope@peaceforpaulfoundation.org if you would like to join our team!
